About this course

This course develops clear, accurate and organized English writing for everyday, academic and general communication. Learners strengthen sentence construction, subject-verb agreement, tense consistency and word choice before moving into paragraph organization and cohesion. The course covers punctuation, linking words, formal and informal tone, practical messages, requests, enquiries, complaints, instructions and announcements. Learners also practice descriptive and narrative writing, short essays, compare-and-contrast, cause-and-effect writing and summarizing. The final section focuses on editing, proofreading and improving a draft into a strong final version. The goal is to help learners express their ideas clearly rather than simply memorize grammar rules.
